3. Coyote Centaur 50-Inch Natural Gas/Charcoal Dual Fuel Grill

Coyote Centaur 50-Inch Natural Gas/Charcoal Dual Fuel Grill has the appearance and feel of a high-end appliance.

It features seamless, polished edges and is made of continuously welded stainless steel.

There are two side-by-side gas and charcoal grill boxes on the Coyote Centaur, which has a total cooking surface of 1200 square inches.

You can control the cooking temperature with precision using the adjustable height charcoal tray, heat control grids, and adjustable airflow dampers on the gas side, which put out 40,000 BTUs.

As an alternative to charcoal, the Coyote Centaur includes a wood chip burner.

You can find everything you need in the Memphis by Pit Boss, a single, do-it-all grill and smoker.

As a gas-charcoal grill, this grill ticks all the boxes, as well as adding an electric smoker for good measure. With the Memphis, Pit Boss offers a four-in-one cooking solution along with their pellet smokers and flat top grills.

5. Char-Broil Gas2Coal 3-Burner Liquid Propane and Charcoal Hybrid Grill

This list includes combo grills with side-by-side cooking surfaces, one for charcoal and one for gas. If you have the space, this setup works great, but what if you don’t?

It’s a single cooking surface model that can be converted from gas to charcoal in around 60 seconds thanks to its Char-Broil Gas2Coal 3Burner Liquid Propane and Charcoal Hybrid Grill.

The Blackstone 36″ flat top griddle has been named the best flat top griddle by us. On one side of this grill is a gas griddle and on the other is a charcoal grill.

There is no lid on this grill, so it’s not recommended for roasting or slow cooking, unlike the other combo grills in this guide.

You can sear steaks over charcoal for the best flavor, while you cook mushrooms and onions simultaneously on the griddle side of this grill.

Although Blackstone claims this grill is portable, the legs do not fold, so it is not suitable for small vehicles. However, the wheels are sturdy and the griddle top is removable.

What we like:

  • Easy to control heat – Cooking on the griddle side is great for avoiding flare ups
  • Versatile – Griddles expand your cooking horizons with the ability to make fried rice, eggs, diced vegetables and more. You can also sear over charcoal for added flavor and then move to the griddle side to finish.

What we don’t like:

  • Gas valve – A little awkward on the front, would be better around the back
  • Legs don’t fold – This would be a fantastic camping grill, but without folding legs it’s hard to say this grill is portable

7. Oklahoma Joe’s Charcoal/LP Gas/Smoker Combo

This Oklahoma Joe’s Charcoal/LP Gas/Smoker Combo grill can fulfill nearly all of your cooking needs with a single multi-fuel grill.

The three-burner gas grill, traditional charcoal grill, and offset smoker allow you to cook everything without cluttering your backyard with an entire BBQ joint.

A two-zone cooking setup is very easy to set up with the charcoal and gas cooking surfaces mounted side by side.

There are three 12,000 BTU burners on the gas side for a total of 36,000 BTUs, as well as an additional side burner.

A firebox offset on the charcoal side doubles as a smoker. Should you get a gas and charcoal grill?

Before you buy a charcoal or gas grill, it’s worth spending a few minutes trying to understand the benefits of a combo grill.
