The most powerful way for citizens to protect our regions natural heritage is to become involved in a local chapter or task force of WNCA. The chapters and task forces drive and implement much of the Alliances work.
Here are a few examples of the direct impact our chapters and task forces are making:
- Macon County Chapter: Sponsoring Franklin Green Drinks the third Tuesday of every month at Rathskellar in downtown Franklin.
- Tuckasegee Community Alliance: Partnering with The Watershed Association of the Tuckasegee River to form a team of volunteers to monitor streams quality.
- Tusquitee Chapter: Successfully organized in opposition to locate a shooting range in National Forest lands within Clay County.
