The Alliances French Broad and Watauga Riverkeepers work through advocacy, research, and collaboration to monitor and protect our water quality.
The Alliance supports the development and enforcement of standards and regulations to protect surface and ground water, and we work to preserve and restore waterways as healthy ecosystems as well as recreational and aesthetic resources.
We also foster citizen volunteer efforts to investigate and protect local water quality.

Protect Our Waterways
The Watauga River Conservation Partners, which is a chapter of WNCA, received a grant from the Park Foundation that will help fund interpretive signage and native plant landscaping at Watauga Gorge Park. This new park will be the first official and legal access point on the Watauga River Paddle Trail.
